Visit to Cleveland

Visit to Cleveland

With Rhonda on a health leave of absence, Diane visited Cleveland in her stead on Tuesday and Wednesday, visiting with Spina Bifida Clinic staff at Akron Children’s Hospital and University Hospitals Rainbow Babies, as well as the Fetal Center at Cleveland Clinic. In these meetings, she shared our programs and services and was pleased with the welcome received and willingness to partner in spreading the word about SBC in Northeast Ohio. Thank you to Kim Slocombe, SBC Board member and urology nurse practitioner at the Cleveland Clinic for planning these visits.

While in Cleveland, Diane also hosted a table at the Connecting for Kids Lorain County Resource Fair that provided information on a wide range of concerns, from summer programming options or school struggles to mental health and specific diagnoses. She was able to network with many other organizations that provide support from which families living with spina bifida might receive benefit.

Connecting for Kids will be hosting the Western Cuyahoga Resource Fair on March 25th from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm. Family members in Northeast Ohio will be hosting the SBC table at this event. Visit Connecting for Kids to register for this event at: https://www.connectingforkids.org/west-cuyahoga-fair.
