Empowerment Camp will look a little different this year, but we are really looking forward to a day of outdoor fun at Camp Joy this summer!
With COVID-19 restrictions still in place, we will be hosting a one-day camp for 8-16 year-olds with spina bifida and their siblings (older campers will have a camp dedicated to them later this year). Many of the great Empowerment Camp activities normally offered will still take place on a shortened timeline. Parents are required to attend with their child in order to provide bathroom and medication support, since nurses will not be on staff at Camp Joy due to the pandemic.
We have a schedule of activities planned just for parents to relax and enjoy some quiet time focused on YOU while your child(ren) are busy having fun at camp. If your child 14 and older can be responsible for their own medical care for the day, parents may leave them after registration and return at 2:45 pm for pick up.
The cost to attend is:
-$30 for a camper with spina bifida, sibling, and/or parent

Camp and recreation scholarships are available for campers who desire financial assistance. Simply complete this form, and it will be sent to the office for approval.
