In person programs are slowly being re-introduced at SBCC following more than a year of social distancing due to the pandemic. As such, we are excited to announce that we will be back together for our annual Kids’ Fly with the Greater Cincinnati Radio Control Club (GCRCC) this summer!
GCRCC members graciously share their radio control airplanes with our families using dual control boxes that allow new flyers to safely fly the planes over the corn fields of Trenton with an experienced flyer by their side. The Kids’ Fly is for children and also for you older kids at heart. If you have never been to the Kids’ Fly, plan to join us; it’s so much fun. If you’ve been in the past, we hope you will be back with us again this year.
GCRCC provides a delicious picnic meal for everyone. Our families are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share. We ask that you please bring food in individual serving sizes or packaging (for instance, cupcakes or cookies instead of a whole cake or pan of brownies, OR single serving packs of pretzels or baggies of carrot sticks) to help us limit contact.
The following accommodations will be observed to increase your safety during the Kids’ Fly:
- Hand sanitizer will be provided at the buffet line, as you enter and exit the flying field, at several picnic tables, and at the Portapotty.
- Radio control boxes will be wiped down between each use.
- All will be asked to wear a mask when in the food line and when flying planes on the airfield.
- A server wearing gloves and a mask will serve food at the buffet table.
- Picnic tables will be limited to one per household or a maximum of 2 people from one household on either end of a picnic table.
- We encourage attendees to bring their own folding chairs and/or picnic blankets to help maintain social distancing.
