Empowerment Teen Girl Squad

Empowerment Teen Girl Squad

SBCC is thrilled to partner with the CRC Division of Therapeutic Recreation on a new social group for teens and young women with spina bifida. The goal of the group is to improve confidence, self-esteem, and social skills while participants take part in recreation and leisure activities in the community.  It promises to be fun, creative and empowering!

The program invites young women, ages 12 – 20, to meet once a month from 6:30 – 8:30 PM on Saturdays from October – March. Each session will begin at the LeBlond Recreation Center on Riverside Drive with transportation provided to any activities taking place in the community. The cost is $20 + a CRC Center Membership. Check out the new Fall/Winter Program Guide, page 21 for more information and registration details. Or call Taylor at 513-352-4056 with any questions. This program offers a great opportunity for parents to have a date night downtown or to spend time at the recreation center with other children.

Empowerment Teen Girl Squad also offers a leadership opportunity for young women ages 20 – 28 with spina bifida. Mentors are being sought to assist with discussions and activities. This training program teaches pre-employment skills to women interested in empowering other women. Contact Taylor at 513-352-4056 for more details.
