The planning committee has met and the decision was made for the Walk & Roll to be a HYBRID event this year. What does that mean? You will have a choice of how you wish to participate: In-Person (Plan A) or Virtual (Plan B) with the understanding that if there is a change in the status of the COVID-19 pandemic the event may be entirely virtual.
Our theme for this year’s Walk & Roll is “Envision Your Best Self”. Registration will open some time in June, and that date will be shared with you soon.
In-Person (Plan A) event:
- Takes place at Miami Whitewater Forest beginning at 9:00 a.m.
- Participation numbers may be limited based upon future guidelines
- All registrations should be online if at all possible to limit contact and monitor attendance numbers
- There will be NO DJ, games, on-site raffles, or vendors
- Split the Pot, baskets, and raffle items will be available to view on-line beginning in early June and tickets will be available for purchase
- The Walk & Roll will use staggered starts in 2021
- Teams will select a start time at registration (beginning at 10:00 a.m.) and will be assigned a color by SBCC which they will use throughout the event
- Each team will be assigned a table by color that they will use as “home base” for their team. They will use this table to pick-up their T-Shirts, meet other team members, and enjoy the picnic lunch
- We will offer two serving lines for Skyline coney’s, chips, and cookies utilizing social distancing guidelines
- Masks MAY BE required based upon guidelines in place at time of event
- Other restrictions may be necessary, and will be shared as they become known
Virtual (Plan B) event:
- You and your team may choose to Walk & Roll wherever you are comfortable
- You will register online and will select “Virtual” as your location choice
- You will pick up your T-Shirts on a designated date and location
- Split the Pot, baskets, and raffle items will be available to view on-line beginning in early June and tickets will be available for purchase
- We will have a SBCC Board member/volunteer visit your Walk & Roll location if you wish so that we can “live stream your team”

2021 Walk & Roll T- Shirt design & marketing materials contest!
We had such a great response to our T-Shirt design contest in 2020, we decided to do it again. This year our theme is “Envision your Best Self”. This contest is open to those ages 18 and above. Submissions will be due on Wednesday, March 31st and are limited to one submission per individual. The artwork will be judged on originality, creativity, and inclusivity.
Prizes will be awarded to the top designers and a grand prize winner will be chosen. Winners will be selected by our panel of judges and announced in the E-blast on April 12th.
Grand Prize: $100 Amazon gift card and the artwork will be printed on the 2021 Walk & Roll T-shirt.
Second Prize: $50 Amazon gift card
Honorable Mentions: $25 Amazon gift card
Artwork MUST be original (not copyrighted) and include the following:
- Artwork should be submitted as a .jpg, .png, or .tiff file
- Please use branded colors when appropriate, blue – #008ed6, green – #5bbf21, orange – #f77f00
- Theme: “Envision your Best Self”
- 21st Annual Walk & Roll, and SBCC or The Spina Bifida Coalition of Cincinnati
- Date of Walk & Roll: September 25, 2021
- Depict an individual living with spina bifida (i.e. wearing a brace, using crutches, or a wheelchair)
- The design will appear on a white T-shirt
NEW for 2021 – Youth design contest: marketing materials
Not only do we need a logo for our 21st Annual Walk & Roll T-Shirts, we need a logo for our marketing materials (Save the Date post card, brochure, and website) and this year we are hoping that one of our youth (under the age of 18) can design that for us!
Prizes will be awarded to all who enter:
- Grand Prize winner will receive a $50 Amazon gift card
- Second Place winner a $25 Amazon gift card
- Honorable mentions will receive a $5 Graeter’s Ice Cream Gift Card
Artwork MUST be original and include the following:
