We are excited to announce that we are growing once again…on Monday, August 29, 2022 the SBC Board of Directors by majority vote agreed to include Northeast Ohio in our service area. Counties that will be included – Ashland, Ashtabula, Carroll, Columbiana, Cuyahoga, Erie, Geauga, Holmes, Huron, Lake, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Richland, Stark, Summit, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, and Wayne. This brings SBC’s service area to 41 counties in Ohio, 3 in northern Kentucky, 6 in southeastern Indiana, and 55 in West Virginia.
Northeast Ohio has five facilities that serve those affected by spina bifida that include Cleveland Clinic-Children’s, Cleveland Clinic, Metro Health Systems, Akron Rainbow Babies, and University Hospitals. We will be working closely with them to share information about SBC and how we can provide services.
Northeast Ohio families will be joining our SB Coalition Family-to-Family Facebook group and the adults will be joining the SBC Adults w/Spina Bifida Support Group so when you see new faces, please welcome them!
Additionally, Northeast Ohio will be holding their 1st SBC Walk & Roll on Saturday, September 17th beginning at 9:00 a.m. at Edgewater Park in Cleveland. The group is very enthusiastic and are looking forward to meeting and supporting families living with spina bifida!
