Registration is now open for our second Learn, Lunch & Laugh program in Cincinnati, “Let’s Talk About Early Childhood Development”. At this session, Dr. Steph Weber, Psychologist and LEND Training Director, will be joined by Dr. Nicoletta Frankenstein, Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics Fellow, to discuss early child development through age 5. In this presentation, we will touch on developmental milestones, developmental delays common in children with spina bifida, and developmentally-appropriate activities families can use to encourage development and increase independence.
We will meet at Parky’s Farm Shetland Shelter in Winton Woods on Sunday, June 17th from 10:30 am – 1:00 pm. Children will explore the farm and participate in the “Farm Friends” program with volunteers from the UC School of Social Work and the UC University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities LEND Program, while parents gather in the Shetland Shelter for the presentation. Afterward, everyone will join together for a simple lunch.
